I am twenty three years old. I attended a retreat at Divine Retreat Centre when I was a child studying in fourth grade. After completing my electrical design engineering I was confused about my life. My parents were looking for a life partner for me and I did not know if I was ready for marriage or if I had a God’s call to join the religious convent. On 18 May 2018 I came to DRC with my cousins to participate in a retreat and to experience God. I surrendered myself and let the Holy Spirit take control of my life. In one of the adoration sessions conducted by Fr Augustine Vallooran, he quoted the Word of God: “”Speak Lord, for your servant is listening” (I Sam 3:10). I started repeating this Bible verse and prayed to the Lord to get clarity of mind and to understand God’s plan for my life (cf Jer 29:11).
I continued to pray even after the retreat. At the end of December 2018 a good proposal came. My parents were happy about it and believed it was the plan of God and accepted would be husband as a gift from God. On 18 May 2019, exactly after a year of my retreat I attended to pray for taking decision about my life settlement, on the same date, ‘18 May’, I got married and I have a beautiful family. I believe this is a blessing from God. This is my third and thanksgiving retreat. I praise and thank the Lord. ““The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple” (Ps 119:130).
