“Call to me and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvellous things that you know nothing about” (Jer 33:3).
I am a dentist practicing in a Government Hospital Pondicherry. I play the keyboard for Sunday Mass at our cathedral church. My first retreat at Divine Retreat Centre was in 2009, then in 2013 and the last was in January 2019. My spiritual life was dry for the past six years and I was feeling spiritually weak. That is when I attended a retreat in January 2019. During counselling session my counsellor gave me the right direction and told me to start the day with the Holy Mass. From that day onwards I have been attending the Holy Mass every morning at our cathedral church without fail. When I started my clinic in 2017 many people said that it will not be successful. A year went by and over that one year I would have seen only 100 patients. At my last retreat I surrendered my clinic in prayer to the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. After that till date my clinic is flourishing very well and God has immensely blessed us.
On 14 December 2019, a young girl of fifteen years of age came to our outpatient department in Government Hospital with a fracture of the mandible (condyle of mandible). It was one of the most difficult cases to attend. Our surgery team decided that the girl needed a surgery to remove the broken piece of condylar head from the mandible. On 21 December 2019 we started the surgery and for one and half hours we were not able to retrieve that broken piece. Finally I decided to pray to God and started praying in the words: “O Precious Blood of Jesus to fall on her.” Then, surprisingly, the broken piece touched my glove of my index finger and I was able to remove that broken piece with the allis forceps. I believe that it is God who made it possible because it was beyond medical understanding.
I got married on 29 June 2014. On 7 November 2019 my wife’s pregnancy test came. On 28 November, when we went for a fetal scan, it was revealed that my wife had not conceived. Instead we found a lot of cysts (PCOD) in her uterus and the doctor advised her to undergo a surgery for removal of PCOD and only then the baby would stay in the uterus. My wife and I prayed to God daily for the surgery to be cancelled. Just two days before the date of surgery we took a second scan which showed my wife’s uterus was normal and there was no PCOD or any cyst. We believe that God worked a miracle! We praise and thank the Lord with all our heart for His great love and mercy.
“Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” (Mt 7:7-8).
